Diego Carvalho

Diego Carvalho is a tenured Professor in the Department of Higher Education at Cefet/RJ, where he teaches in the Production Engineering Course. Holding both a Bachelor’s degree (UFRJ’s Polytechnic School) and a Master’s and a Doctorate in Systems Engineering and Computer Science from PESC/COPPE/UFRJ, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to connect research with real-world impact. His extensive work includes research at CERN’s DELPHI Experiment, participation in European Commission grid computing initiatives (such as EELA and GISELA), and various CNPq-supported software development projects. Beyond research, he has held several senior leadership roles at Cefet/RJ, notably serving as Head of the Production Engineering course, Head of the Graduate Program in Production and Systems Engineering, Head of the Higher Education Department, and Pro-Rector for both Budget & Management and Strategic Management. A specialist in distributed systems, parallel architectures, grid technologies, data mining, and big data, he has contributions recognized through his Senior Membership in both the IEEE and the Internet Society.
